Have you ever sat and thought about what a designer we have as a creator? Everything must be just perfect for us to be able to live in this world. Just the right amount of oxygen, which means the right number of trees, and we must be just the right distance from the sun, so we have warmth but not too close that we burn. Using the moon to pull and push the waves at the beach all working in harmony to make this the only planet livable for us. God is an amazing artist when He designed the world, but I really want to focus on the sun and moon. We see the different stages of the moon every night, and the only way we can see the moon is because it is reflected from the sun. In our lives as Christians, we need to shine like the moon reflecting our Son, Jesus Christ. “We can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him.” (2 Corinthians 3:18) Just like the moon, we go through different stages of life from the first breath we take to starting preschool, to going to high school and graduating. Then we get a degree or go straight to work, and find the one God designed us to be with to getting married and starting a family. We all have different stages and experiences that make up this thing we call our lives. During these stages, we may have heartbreaks or struggles but we also have so many blessings if we are willing to open our eyes to what God is doing. Jerimah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Only a few weeks ago we experienced a beautiful miracle, the eclipse. This is where the moon for a short amount of time comes in front of the sun making it darker in the middle of the day. As Christ molds us and makes us into the Christians he has intended us to be using our gifts to shine for Him, He will put us on the front line to SHINE for Him and to bring glory to the Father. We will step in front of the Son to shine with His reflection behind us. What a beautiful image this is, but the only way that we can shine like the moon is if we are wholeheartedly reflecting the Son of God. This week let’s work on having our time with the Father and really reflecting on His plan for our life. Graduation is quickly approaching for a lot of High School students and a lot of college students. These are the best times to pray and reflect on the plans God the Father has for you. I am going to leave you with a quote:
“It is hard to hear God’s voice when you have already decided what you want Him to say.”
